where can we stay in kumbakonam and where can we get home made food for my baby ?

have to visit garbarakshambiga temple and suryanar temple. ours is a middle class family. where can i stay for 1 day ? is tamilnadu tourism hotel good ? also plz let me know mess that provides food as good as home made one. the thing is hotel i stay and the mess shd be nearer.
this friday we are planning to travel. so plz answer me by 3 days.
